Common tile problems
- Cracked tiles from impact, or from movement underneath.
- Hollow-sounding tiles that have lost bond with the surface below.
- Loose wall tiles, especially in showers.
- Cracked or missing grout.
- Failed caulk at changes of plane, like where a tub meets wall tile.
Wet areas need extra care
Loose tile in a shower or around a tub may mean water has gotten behind it. Soft drywall or a damp backer behind the tile changes the job from a tile repair into a larger one. Waterproofing systems should be reviewed specifically.
What to send
Photos of the damaged area and the whole floor or wall, any spare tiles or packaging you have, and whether the area is in a wet room. Tap nearby tiles with a coin and note any that sound hollow.

Common questions
Can you find a matching tile?
Sometimes. Leftover tiles from the original install are the best match. Otherwise, a close match or a deliberate accent may be needed.
Why does my grout keep cracking?
Movement in the floor, missing expansion joints or water damage are common causes. Regrouting alone may not solve it.
